We recently were fortunate to hire Jay McCaughey as our realtor. We had a complicated situation in which we were relocating from the East Coast to the West Coast and had limited time to find a home due to a corporate relocation. Paul is a one in ten million real estate pro. We have now purchased and sold a few different properties and have never run into an agent that is better that Paul. He was extremely easy to work with and was genuinely concerned with not only us loving the property we purchased but in making sure that the home we got was a sound investment. He was detail oriented to the max, extremely responsive to us via any communication method, would preview homes on our behalf when we could not view them and provide detailed write ups on them. While not in his job description he more than once helped to wrangle our small children while we viewed homes to allow us to fully focus on assessing the property. I had a great experience buying a house with Paul as my agent. I have bought 4 houses over the years. Paul is by far the best agent I have ever dealt with. More than that he is genuinely a great person to be around. Paul always had my best interest in mind. He was very thoughtful and helpful. Coming from California real estate is very different here. Things like power lines, flood zones, dumps. I didn't realize that those were things to look out for. Paul had a great knowledge of the areas we were looking at. He steered use clear of anything that would be a problem. Paul was also very knowledgeable and detail oriented. I would highly recommend him.

Jay was our agent for our purchase of a home in Issaquah, in a work-related relocation from the Los Angeles area to the Seattle area. For us, this was an unusual situation, as we were engaged in a "remote home purchase" due to the confluence of the COVID-19 pandemic and the school year. Jay handled this situation in an exemplary fashion: guiding us towards good homes and away from bad situations, helping arrange for home inspections, giving us video tours of prospective homes, and guiding us through the negotiation process in a highly successful fashion. Jay also guided us towards useful services in the local area. We ended up with a good home in a good, quiet neighborhood, 20 minutes away from where I work in Bellevue. This was a fantastic experience.

This time around I was looking to buy, and Jay went above and beyond to make the experience easy for me. He quickly adapted to my search approach and was amazingly flexible in scheduling home tours, even going out of his way to video record a walk-through ahead of an in-person visit. Despite a crazy Seattle market, I felt comfortable in Jay's hands as he helped me structure a winning package once I found the right home. During the offer process, and throughout closing Jay ensured that everything was on track and was in regular communication to keep me apprised of the state of the closing logistics. At one point I had a near-disaster with my insurance provider, and Jay was there to provide recommendations for alternatives and put me in direct contact with an agent who helped me secure a policy under tight deadlines.
